Window Replacement

You are invited to bid on a General Contract for Window Replacement at the referenced project. Bids shall be on a Stipulated Sum basis. This project includes replacement of the existing windows, installation of new pan flashing, jamb flash ing and head flashing; interior repairs, and associated work. Alternates are also included for sealant replacement, exterior coating work, and alternate window configurations with operable windows.

Bid Opening
Glenwood-Lynwood Public Library District will receive Bids until 1:00pm Central Time on Monday, May 7, 2018, at the following location:

Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids transmitted by fax, e-mail, electronic or telephonic means will not be considered. Bids will be opened publicly and read aloud at the date and time listed above. The Glenwood-Lynwood Library District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities.

Bidders will be required to comply with all laws, including those relating to the employment of labor, and payment of the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft of type of worker or mechanic needed to execute the contract or perform such work, including the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work, as ascertained by the Illinois Department of Labor for Cook County, Illinois, shall be paid for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract or to perform such work.

Procurement of Documents
Electronic copies of Procurement Documents will be sent to bidders of record in electronic Portable Document Format (PDF). Printed copies of Procurement Documents may be obtained at engineer’s office after 10:00 am on April 5, 2018, for a non-refundable fee of Two Hundred Dollars ($200) per set. Request for printed copies shall be made 2 days in advance of pickup.

Bid Security
Bid security in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with Article 5 – Bidding Procedures. Bid Security shall be in the form of a cashier’s check made payable to Owner, or Bid Bond conforming to requirements of Instructions to Bidders.

Bidders may attend a pre-bid meeting, to be held at 10:00am Central Time, Monday, April 16, 2018. At that time, site conditions may be examined, and Engineer will be available to answer questions. The pre-bid meeting will be held at the site. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting will not be mandatory.
